LIVING WITH CHRONIC ILLNESS • I used to do everything I could to hide being sick. I would make myself unavailable constantly & offer lame excuses as to why I couldn’t attend an event or had to cancel a plan.
.
I was afraid to carry the stigma of being “that sick girl” or looking weak in any way.
.
When I really started to look at WHY I was feeling this way, I was simply scared of the judgement. Of the stories I had created. Of not being “normal” (whatever that is).
.
These days I know my health journey has been one of my biggest blessings. It taught me a million lessons in a short lifetime. And when I finally opened up and allowed myself to be vulnerable, I built friendships that feel more like family, and found my purpose on this planet.
.
Now, I embrace each step of this journey because it has made me who I am today.
.
I listen to my body and rest when I need to.
.
I create healthy boundaries within my relationships.
.
I am vocal with my needs.
.
Wherever you are in your healing journey, that is absolutely where you need to be. Give yourself grace, time, patience & know, your struggles will become your greatest superpower.
