INCONSISTENCY + MENTAL HEALTH • This week has been difficult. My energy and mood have been low, a lot of heavy emotions are coming up that need attention. I have been doing all the things that I know I need to move through it — time offline, fresh air, baths, nourishing foods, connecting with my community, journaling, relying heavily on my practice but yet, the energy is still heavy. Sometimes there isn’t a specific word when we are going through an intense period of growth, it is just about BEING. I know like waves the emotions will come and go, that it is a core part of the human experience.
I am sharing this because it is my truth. Consistency is something I rely on, in my daily practice, in showing up for myself and in staying connected to my dreams but there is also a lot to be said for being inconsistent in life. For saying, I am not inspired or motivated right now and that is OK. To ask for support or take a mental health day. To put a pause on parts of life to recalibrate, recharge, connect back to ourselves, be alone and explore the emotions coming up. It will look different for all of us.
As a society we have been programmed to always be on and available, for conversations, on social media, at work, for our families, but this model is not sustainable for our collective long-term mental, spiritual and emotional well being. I am consciously choosing to lean into the feminine energy with ease and grace vs the masculine energy of pushing through.
When it comes to life, my business and this platform, there will be times I am inconsistent. And I am ok with that. I’ll take time off of social media, skip a week in my newsletter, stay inside for a few days and keep to myself. But when I do show up, I will always show up 1000%, speaking my truth and coming from my heart.
I hope by sharing this that it will remind you that it is ok to be inconsistent in your life as well.
